Resveratrol is afgeleid van Polygonum cuspidatum wortelextract. Polygonum cuspidatum, is een plant waarvan de wortel de bron is van de polyfenolische antioxidant trans-resveratrol, trans-reveratrol wordt beschouwd als de meest biologisch beschikbare vorm van resveratrol.
