WHAT IS L-TRYPTOPHAN?
Tryptophan is an essential amino acid.
When ingested L-tryptophan is used in the production of serotonin (a neurotransmitter that is involved in controlling mood and appetite). L-tryptophan is an amino acid that can be found in various plants and animal proteins, but it is important to know that the human body does not manufacture it. Although our bodies can't make it, L-tryptophan may help with some of our bodily functions.
Tryptophan is first converted by the body into 5-HTP and 5-HTP is converted into Seratonin.
